It was not just a tour to Turkey and Greece in the Southern part of Europe, it was
a designed tour with a theme of “ Retracing Apostles’ Footsteps with in Depth Study
of the truth from the Bible. A Tour for Searching your Belief and Rebuilding your
Spiritual Life.” On top of the daily tour from city by city, our tour guide and
leader, Pastor and Mrs. Nadia Choi would fit in a mini worship session with bible
reading and prayer, and special talks on historical background of Christianity.
That made our trip more fruitful and spiritual.
The most amazing place that I visited was Patmos Island where Apostle John was exiled
and had the vision to complete the Book of Revelation. When we took the ferry to
Patmos, one could image the day that Apostle John had experienced his journey to
the island, it certainly was not as pleasant as ours. It took us four hours to go
there by ferry. The Cave of Apocalypse (Revelation) was the main focus of this island
where Apostle John was kept and stayed for a few decades. We were so grateful that
Nadia led us for an intensive bible study on the Book of Revelation; what a golden
opportunity and wonderful experience in reading this special book in Patmos Island
of the Aegean Sea.
One of the fascinating facts that I have learnt from the church of Laodicea is the
description written in Rev 3:15,“neither hot nor cold”. Since Laodicea was located
between Hierapolis (6 miles away) where is a hot spring centre and Colossian (10
miles away) in ancient time. Hot spring water running from Hierapolis to Laodicea
would become lukewarm after a distance of six miles. The lukewarm water continue
to run from Laodicea to Colossian would turn cold. Based on this geographical condition,
Laodicea would only get the lukewarm water that neither can heal nor drink. Lukewarm
water is not useful for anything. That can explain why God called them “neither
hot nor cold”, therefore He is about the spit them out. To be able to stand right
at the ancient site of Laodicea and to meditate these bible verses, it will be unforgettable.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who
have been called according to his purpose.” Rom 8:28. For sure, we all benefit from
this tour as we are all called according to his purpose. It is really a once-in-a-life
time experience. I would highly recommend you to set aside one of your holidays
to experience the joy in learning and touring.

This tour is one of the best tour I've ever had in my life because of all of you
who are so friendly and helpful. I certainly hope that we will be able to meet all
or some of you in the not too distant future. I definitely learned a lot from Pastor
Mrs Choi and all of you about the seven churches mentioned in Revelation and about
the missionary trips of Paul. That makes me more confident in sharing with my christian
brothers and sisters in our fellowship.

During this trip, we learned a lot about the difficult lives of early christians,
especially St Paul. They risk their lives of being persecuted and put to death.
Being a christian nowadays is relatively easy in many aspects, especially in Canada.
The knowledge we learned from the trip gave us the insight, introduction and challenges
to begin doing more researches on early christian lives and also testimonies in
strengthening our Christian faith.
It had been a funful journey. Hope to meet you all again in the not too distant
future. Thanks for all the wonderful memories and friendship on the bus, ferries,
meal times, loading of luggages, church visits, tourist attractions and shopping
moments.
